Final Blog

Hello,

After a long term and a few blogs later we arrive at my final blog for this class. After reviewing my previous scores of psychological, physical, and spiritual well-being, I scored my self with a 8,7,8 respectively. At this time, my scores remain the same. I feel that they haven't decreased or increased since the last rating, and there has not been enough significant change to change my scores. I have been on track to improve my physical goals and have made a more conscious effort to improve my psychological and spiritual goals. The actions that I need to take for each goal will take time, and I don't expect for change to happen overnight.

My experience with this class was difficult. I thought this class had a heavy workload, and also made me try different exercises that I am not used to. By doing so I was able to expose some of my strength and some of my weaknesses. I will continue to strive to better myself physically, psychologically, and spiritually to obtain optimal health.

  1. Mike, good luck in your future. This class has offered us tools that are excellent in dealing with people and stress. It will make you a better person and a better firefighter because of the new perspective you have to offer. You have the opportunity to leave the people in need with words of encouragement that could change their future. In the face of pain, we all need hope. Good luck!

  2. Mike,

I have noticed that some peoples ranking did not change but mine did not a lot but it did. I am glad you were able to see new weaknesses and strengths. Good luck in betting yourself and in the future whatever it may hold for you. I know that I changed my attitude of this class shortly after the 2nd week. I would say the first but the first week was basically introductions and getting to know it better.

Until next time, keep it real.

  3. Hi Mike,
I know quite a few people who have started the Paleo diet this past year. There were some parts of it I liked but not all of it. So... I take what I like and leave the rest. There was a lot of work in this course but I sure learned a lot. The exercises were a lot of writing for the little bit of points but in the long run, it is what I get out of the class that is the most important. The meditations were different which were nice because it gave me a chance to experience them and choose what fit best. Take care,
    Deb C
